Remini Alternatives: Restore, Upscale and Retouch Photos Without the Subscription

Remini is the app most people have tried for fixing an old or blurry photo: faces sharpened, scratches gone, a 2005 phone picture made to look like it was taken this year. The complaint that brings people to a "Remini alternative" search is rarely the result. It is the model: a recurring subscription for something many people need a dozen times a year. This post lists what does the same jobs on Reelina, priced per photo, with the prices from the live index as of October 2026.

The jobs, and what each costs

Job	On Reelina	From (coins)	From (USD)
Sharpen a soft or small photo	Photo upscaler	4	$0.04
Restore an old or damaged print	AI photo restoration	about 24	about $0.24
Colour a black-and-white photo	Colorize black and white photos	about 24	about $0.24
A studio-quality headshot from a selfie	AI headshot generator	about 24	about $0.24
A full portrait in a chosen style	AI portrait generator	about 24	about $0.24
Sharpen a blurry video	Video upscaler	5	$0.05

Dollars at the entry plan's rate, about one cent a coin; a one-off coin pack works the same way with no renewal.

How the pricing compares

Twelve restorations a year is about 290 coins, under three dollars at the entry rate, and the coins do not expire between them. A hundred upscales is about 400 coins. The difference from a subscription is not that each job is cheap, it is that a quiet month costs nothing. For someone who edits every day, a monthly plan ($9.99 for 1,000 coins) is the better deal and is also available; the point is that it is a choice.

What is different

Models, not one enhancer. Remini is one pipeline. Reelina's upscaler runs several (the index lists four image upscalers from 4 to 8 coins), and the restoration, colourisation and headshot tools each run the model suited to that job. Results differ by model, which is why the tool pages show examples first.

Desktop and mobile browser, nothing to install. Reelina is a web app. Upload from a phone or a desktop, download the result, no app store.

Retouching beyond repair. Remini's strength is enhancement. If what you actually want is a new photo from an old one, a professional headshot from a selfie, a different outfit, a different background, that is image generation rather than enhancement, and the headshot and portrait tools are built for it.

What you give up

Remini's phone app is one tap; Reelina is a browser tab. Remini's bulk batch features suit someone fixing a whole album; Reelina is priced and built per photo. If you restore hundreds of photos a week, an unlimited subscription may still win on price. The Remini alternative page has before-and-after examples for each tool so the output decides.

FAQ

Is there a free Remini alternative on Reelina? No. Every job shows its coin cost before it runs, and the cheapest (an upscale) is 4 coins. The smallest way in is a one-off coin pack, which never expires.

Which tool replaces Remini's enhance button? The photo upscaler, from 4 coins. For damaged prints, AI photo restoration; for black-and-white, the colouriser.

Do the tools work on faces? Yes. The upscaler and restoration models are tuned for faces, and the headshot and portrait tools generate from a selfie.

Can I cancel? There is nothing to cancel on a coin pack. Monthly plans can be cancelled from the billing page at any time.

Does it work on my phone? Yes, in the browser. There is no app to install.
